    Basic Job Description

    The IFTE Operator/Maintainer is an important member of the Army electronic maintenance team and is primarily responsible for maintaining the Base Shop Test Facility (BSTF), performing sustainment level electronic maintenance on Shop Replaceable Units (SRU), system supported Line Replaceable Units (LRU), and Test program Sets (TPS).

    Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS include:

    Performs march order and emplacement of the base shop test facility, installs supported weapon system test program sets, initiates unit under test procedures, isolates unit under test/base shop test facility printed circuit board or component malfunctions, replaces defective parts/components and performs unit under test/base shop test facility alignments and adjustments. Performs base shop test facility preventive maintenance checks and services and operational checks. Operates and performs preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicles and power generators.

    Supervises lower rank soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Installs base shop test facility equipment modifications, prepares maintenance and supply forms and records, and provides technical assistance for corrective maintenance procedures.

    ASVAB Score Required: 110 in aptitude area EL

    Security Clearance: Secret

    Strength Requirement: very heavy
