  • Shoulder Injury

One of my friends is going to join the Marines and he has recently hurt his shoulder (this was about 4-5 months ago). The doctor at the time told him he could of torn a tendon. He received a steroid shot and that killed his pain till about a week ago. He is deathly afraid that he will have to have surgery and that he will get discharged. His recruiter told him that there is a 85% chance that he will get discharged is he does get surgery. Does any one know if there is anything that he can do to fix his shoulder with out the risk of getting surgery? Or if what the recruiter told him is false?

    Any information will help.
